Q. Do I have to purchase the software again to update to its latest version? |
|
A. Absolutely not! We certainly don’t expect our customers to have
to repay for something they already bought.
If you are looking to upgrade to the latest
version of your software, simply download the new version and click on the
red airplane icon to bring up the Flight1 Software Utility Wrapper
interface. In the interface, look to
the lower right-hand corner and you will see a button labeled, “Reinstall
Software”. Click this button. You will then be prompted to navigate to
your key file and click on it to verify the key. After this, you will then be prompted to
enter your password. Your password is
the last four digits of the credit card you used for your initial
purchase. Once this information has
been verified through the Flight1 server network, your new software will be
extracted to the following directory: C:\SkyDecks
Panel Design Go to this location and then click on the
“install.exe” for your particular product.
In the case of the new CRJ, this software should automatically begin
installation after the verification process. Should you need to retrieve your password, you may
do this on the Flight1 Software Wrapper support page. Click here to be
taken to the Flight1 Software Wrapper support page. |

Q. My key file isn’t working… I think I need a new key. Why’s this happening? |
|
A.
This question pertains mainly to former Precision Panels customers. One of two things is happening here. Either you are attempting to install the
wrong version of the upgrade, or you have a corrupted key file. Before we can send you a new key file, we need to first make certain that you have followed the instructions correctly from the email letter that was sent to you. Please be advised that you will need to:
· Carefully read the letter and follow all the instructions given to the upgrade of your files. · Understand that you are not to download from the existing SkyDecks download page. · Understand that your “Precision Panels” files are different from the SkyDecks files. · Understand why the files are different from the explanation given in the letter. · Follow the link in the letter to your specific download page corresponding to your key file. · Download the file that corresponds to your key file ID number from your specified page.
You can
view or “right-click save” the HTML letter here: Former Precision
Panels customer support letter. If you can answer in the affirmative to all of the points as above, then perhaps you might have a corrupted key. It’s very rare that this happens. However, if you still need a new key file after answering “yes” to all the points above, we would be happy to forward a replacement key file to you. Please write to the following email address and explain that you have answered "yes" to all of the points on the FAQ's page. Please submit your SkyDecks key file request here:

The reason we sent the email announcement to our customers was two fold: firstly to announce the changes that took place, and secondly to provide detailed instructions for the upgrade of your panel product. We carefully planned this in order to avoid any confusion about the differences between the two products. The letter explains this in detail, so please have a look at it if you haven’t already. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may have caused. However, we assure you that this was necessary to provide these separate files, in order for your Precision Panels product to continue to work with the key file you originally obtained. Any future purchases from SkyDecks will be treated as a new purchase, so this will be the only time you’ll need to perform these steps. |

Q. My key file cannot be validated. Why’s this happening? |
|
A. Your key file has exceeded its access
limit. You will need to visit the Flight1
website and have your key file re-activated. To do so, click on the
following link: Click here to reactivate a
de-activated key file. The Flight1 website has several links for key file
support, however should you ever need a replacement key file, you should
contact SkyDecks and submit your request for a replacement. We
can create you a new key file, however in the case of an exceeded access
limit as stated above, it still would not work due to the fact you've
exceeded the key file’s limit, e.g. the reason you need to have it
reset. Please submit your SkyDecks key file
request here: keyfiles -at- sky-decks

|
Q. I’ve lost my password. How can I get my password reset? |
|
A. If you cannot find your "last four numbers" password used for your order, you may submit a request to Flight1 Software for retrieval of the password. SkyDecks does not keep on hand any password information used for your purchase. Password requests are sent only to the original e-mail address used for the order. If you've changed your e-mail address, you will need to submit to Flight1 a request for an e-mail change. Please be aware that Flight1.com processes e-mail address changes with a high level of security, so be prepared to submit to them detailed original order data. If you need to contact Flight1 Software to retrieve a password, please visit the following secure link:

Q. The yaw damper switch isn’t working… It’s on, but nothing happens. Why? |
|
A. The "yaw damper gain" element within the "autopilot" section of the particular aircraft.cfg file that you're using is incorrectly configured. You will need to open the aircraft.cfg file with a text editor (Windows Notepad works best) and edit it to look something like this:
Edit it from "zero" to "One"
yaw_damper_gain=1
This is an aircraft configuration file error and has nothing to do with our panel. FS2002 didn't require this entry, however most aircraft being used early on in FS9, have overlooked this entry and it won't work unless it's been edited. If you’re not comfortable with doing this, make a backup of the file first, just in case you make a mistake. |
|
Q. The autopilot doesn’t appear to work properly. Can you help me? |
|
A.
The autopilot is
configured by the particular aircraft.cfg file for the aircraft that you are
using the panel with. The reason it is acting differently is due to an
improper configuration. You will need to open the aircraft.cfg file
with a text editor (Windows Notepad works best) and edit it to something that
will work better. We suggest that you copy the “autopilot” section from
the default Boeing 747-400 and use these settings to improve your autopilot
performance. If you’re not comfortable with
doing this, make a backup of the file first, just in case you make a mistake.
This panel was set up and tested using the FlightFX Boeing 737-800 winglets aircraft model. You may download the FlightFX Boeing 738 livery pack from within our website at the following location:
Download the FlightFX Boeing
738 Livery Pack.
For more information concerning the use of the autopilot functions of the Boeing aircraft, please visit the help topics within Flight Simulator 2004. It contains some very useful information and procedures for operating with the autopilot. |
|
Q. How do I activate an ILS approach procedure? |
|
A. To activate an ILS approach, follow this procedure:
You will
need to be lined up for approach on the localizer, configured for entry into
the glide slope. In order for the autopilot to capture a glide slope,
you must intercept it from below. The LNAV button is engaged for the
aircraft to capture the localizer. With the
Boeing 738, you should be at approximately 3500 to 2000 feet AGL, 15 degrees
of flaps, 185 KIAS, and ready to intercept the glide slope. Set landing
gear “down” when the glide slope indicator reaches its first tick mark above
centerline. Capture the glide slope by pushing the APP button while the
glide slope indicator is still above the centerline. As the glide slope
indicator approaches its centerline, decrease your airspeed to 170
KIAS. When the glide slope needle hits centerline, the plane will start to pitch downward to intercept the glide slope. Shortly after the aircraft begins it’s decent, decrease airspeed again to 160 KIAS and set flaps to 25. Slowly decrease your airspeed to 140 KIAS and gradually set flaps for landing. The plane should be stabilized on the glide slope and configured for landing at approximately 1,000 AGL. Have a safe landing!! |

Q. Does the SkyDecks B737-NG Panel work with the PMDG 737
Aircraft? |
|
A. Yes. You will need to configure the SkyDecks B737-NG Panel to work with the PMDG 737 Aircraft by following a brief tutorial and downloading a small configuration.exe program that enables the panel to run with the PMDG 737. |
